The Tandem Skydiving Experience

No experience is necessary to make your first jump at CSC. Tandem skydiving allows you to experience the thrill of freefall while securely attached to a USPA (United States Parachute Association) certified instructor who handles all the technical aspects of the jump.

Your Jump Day Will Include:

1. Check-in & Training (approximately 30 minutes) - Watch a comprehensive safety video and receive hands-on instruction about body position, landing techniques, and what to expect during your jump.

2. Gearing Up - Your instructor will fit you with a harness and safety equipment while answering any last-minute questions.

3. The Flight Up - Board the aircraft and ascend to your chosen altitude (14,000, 15,000, or 18,000 feet). The scenic flight offers spectacular views and builds anticipation.

4. Freefall - Experience 40-70 seconds of pure freefall (depending on altitude), reaching speeds of up to 120 mph while taking in panoramic views of the Illinois countryside.

5. Canopy Ride - After your instructor deploys the parachute, enjoy a peaceful 5-7 minute canopy ride, taking in the scenery and catching your breath before a soft landing.

Altitude Options & Pricing

CSC offers jumps from multiple altitudes:

• 14,000 feet - $189-$229 (40-45 seconds freefall)
• 15,000 feet - $219-$259 (50-55 seconds freefall)
• 18,000 feet - $249-$289 (60-70 seconds freefall)

Pricing varies based on weight, day of the week, and video packages. Add-on video and photo packages are available to capture your once-in-a-lifetime experience from multiple angles.

Special Discounts: Students, teachers, firefighters, police, EMTs, dispatchers, and military personnel receive $70 off retail prices for 14,000’ and 18,000’ skydives—CSC’s way of saying thank you for their service.

Requirements

• Minimum age: 18 years (no parental consent forms accepted)
• Maximum weight: 250 lbs
• Weight surcharges apply: $25 (200-220 lbs), $35 (221-240 lbs), $45 (241-250 lbs)
• Must be in reasonable physical condition
• No serious heart, back, or joint problems

Spectators Welcome

Planning Your Visit

Reservations Required - All jumps must be booked in advance through CSC’s website or by phone.

Allow Enough Time - Plan for 3-4 hours at the facility from check-in to landing. Weather delays can extend this time, so don’t schedule tight connections afterward.

What to Wear - Comfortable athletic clothing and secure, closed-toe shoes. Avoid loose items that could fly off during freefall.

Weather Dependent - Skydiving requires specific weather conditions. CSC will reschedule at no charge if weather prevents jumping.

From East of Yellowstone Lodge

Located approximately 35 miles from our lodge, Chicagoland Skydiving Center makes an excellent day trip for adventurous guests. The drive takes about 40-45 minutes, and many guests choose to make their jump in the morning or early afternoon, then return to the lodge to relax and recount their adventure around the fire pit.
